Over the past few years, everyone has been asking “how can twitter be profitable?” Yesterday they rolled out promoted tweets, which was cited as “not advertising” by the
company’s COO, however, they seem to work an awful like sponsored links on
Google.
The move furthers the interesting competition between Google and Twitter, now offering advertisers another way to spend money. I’m curious to see how this will work in media

Seems to be more often than not, there is a “if you build it, they will come” attitude when talking about marketing within social formats, but rarely does that work for a multitude of reasons.
