Seems to be more often than not, there is a “if you build it, they will come” attitude when talking about marketing within social formats, but rarely does that work for a multitude of reasons.



Today Mashable had a great article about Brands Becoming Media. The article did a great job of not only outlining the difference between paid media, owned media (proprietary content creation) and earned media (WOM), but also demonstrating the steps one needs to
take to be successful within social media well beyond just creating a blog or
being on Twitter.
